Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A Stanley Cup champion with the Montreal Canadiens in 1993, Todd Ewen was an enforcer for the Habs and was very efficient at his job with 1,911 penalty minutes logged upon retirement, enough to land the Saskatoon native 58th for PIM all-time. We have a pair of signed gloves worn by Ewen in 1992-93, and they’ve been photo-matched. Ferland models in Canadiens colours, “36” has been handwritten within each, with dual-overlapping signatures added to each cuff in both gold and black. Heavy use is obvious, with considerable wear to the leather in spots, with separations, added blue tape and a pair of team repairs. An included copy of Les Canadiens magazine from 1992-93 contains photos (cover and interior) that have been matched to the scratches in "Ferland" on the cuff of the left glove, especially the "l" and "d", and to the holes present on the right glove. An LOA will accompany.
