Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Wayne Gretzky donned a total of 6 different jerseys during his pro career, dressing for Indianapolis (WHA), Edmonton (both WHA and NHL), LA, St Louis and the Rangers, along with numerous appearances on the international stage for Team Canada. We have a pair of those teams represented, with both Los Angeles Kings and Team Canada captain’s jerseys that have been signed by the timeless legend. Both are souvenir examples made by CCM, with Wayne adding attractive black marker signatures to each, with LOAs from JSA along with additional COAs for each.
Both garments have CCM labeling present, with tackle twill identifiers on the Kings jersey, and rubberized identifiers (with tackle twill letters over the nameplate) on the Team Canada example. Wayne has signed the Kings jersey near the team crest, while the Team Canada sweater has been signed on the reverse beneath the team crest, with the “99” on the Team Canada signature somewhat illegible.
