Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Hailing from only his third of thirteen NHL All-Star Game appearances, we have a twice-signed 1992 Wales Conference jersey that was worn by HOF superstar Joe Sakic. A 1947 “throwback” style jersey, a Maska Ultrafil label along with a size “52” fly tag remain affixed to the collar, with embroidered NHL and CCM crests over the back bottom hem. Styled with a beautiful tackle twill NHL shield crest in blue and white, 5 stars have been affixed arching over the upper chest, with “16” on verso in matching material along with the NHL 75th anniversary crest over the right breast. Sakic has signed the reverse “6” in black marker, adding a second signature to the back of the team crest, with the reverse example blending into the dark background somewhat.
Game-wear consists of just a few small and random marks, with a pair of light stains over the lower front that may not have originated from game action. We should also note that Joe wore the number #16 in the contest as Bryan Trottier wore #19.
