Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
Many hobbyists consider O-Pee-Chee’s 1984-85 hockey cards the most aesthetically-pleasing of the 1980s, with 48 luscious unopened packs housed in the tempting cardboard box here. That’s Hall of Famer Clark Gillies on the big display box and it had to be big since packs increased to 15 cards each and ushered-in the 35-cent-a-pack era. Attractive to look at were/are ‘84-85 cards, with the appeal enhanced by the terrific rookie card contingent, led by Steve Yzerman, Cam Neely, Doug Gilmour, Chis Chelios and Pat Lafontaine. A contest instant win card is also a chase card. Certified and sealed by Baseball Card Exchange’s shrink wrap, the box is free of unsightly flaws, with very light corner/edge wear and two pieces of scotch tape to note. On the bottom is where a BBCE label and sticker with certification number appear on the wrap. To keep wrapped or to unwrap? – that is the question that awaits the new owner. Will it be you answering?
