Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction February 2018
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 2/27/2018
A rare opportunity, Classic Auctions is pleased to announce yet another partnership with the historic Montreal Canadiens franchise, one that will bring to auction a large and impressive bounty of jerseys fresh from the vast and seldom offered holdings of the storied hockey club. Examples are present from 2006-07 to 2014-15, with both important game-issued and game-worn jerseys offered, with a direct line from the actual player and the Canadiens franchise – to you, our loyal bidders. Each desirable jersey has inventory numbers from the Canadiens, with each to be accompanied by a letter of authenticity on Canadiens letterhead.
Currently playing under contract with Barys Astana of the Kontinental Hockey League, we have a pair of 2014-15 Habs sweaters with both home and away examples that were issued to defenceman Darren Dietz. Each jersey features size “56” tagging along the collar (with handwritten “1” on the home example), with embroidered NHL and Reebok crests on the front and back necklines respectively. Styled with the most famous and recognizable team crest in hockey, both V-neck sweaters have been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with “Dietz” across the nameplate of each in single twill. Game-issued, each jersey remains in wonderful condition. It should also be noted that despite the accompanying LOA stating the away example was game-worn, the jersey was only issued. The team patches sit over the inside hem (A03560 Home – A03552 Away), while holograms affixed to the reverse numbers of each (GU14938 Home – GU11090 Away) match the accompanying LOAs from the Canadiens.
