Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A returning nightmare from 6 years previous for Chicago Cubs adherents, the 1938 World Series witnessed the Cubbies crushed for a second time by the powerful Yankees four games straight, with Chicago not seeing Fall Classic action again until 1945. The Series would also mark the last appearance of the Yankees at Wrigley Field until the beginning of the 21st century. We have a program from the Series that hails from Yankee Stadium, and it remains un-scored. At roughly 8 ¾” x 11 ¼”, the fairly thick program remains complete with all pages firmly attached including both line-ups. With just very light toning to the interior and spine and edge wear to the covers along with some light creasing, the program display well and will be a wonderful addition to any World Series program collection.
