Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Featuring the Gas House Gang taking on a powerful Detroit squad that won 101 games behind Mickey Cochrane, the 1934 World Series would be the 3rd for the Cardinals in 5 years with Detroit still searching for their first Fall Classic championship. The Series would be hard fought going the full seven games, with St Louis sealing the deal in the 7th game, crushing Detroit 11-0. We have an un-scored program from the Series, issued at Sportsman’s Park, along with a generic scorecard completed for game 3. At 9” x 12”, the program remains complete and tightly bound including the line-up, with some spine wear along with light discolouration and spotting to both covers and portions of the interior. There is also an edge tear along the back cover. The additional scorecard has been filled out in pencil for game 3, with a large center fold line, along with the date of “Friday 10/5/34/” handwritten above.
