Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

The first World Series jaunt without their long-time skipper John McGraw, the New York Giants would be led into battle by player-manager Bill Terry, with a showdown set for the 1933 Fall Classic with the Washington Senators. Despite being shut-out in the 3rd game by Earl Whitehill, the Giants would take the Series in 5 for their first championship in over a decade. We have a program scored in ink for the first game of the Series, hailing from the Polo Grounds. At just under 9 ¼” x 11”, the publication features a gorgeous Art Deco cover picturing a generic player in full swing. The cover is separated along the top and bottom portions with a random pen mark on the cover’s lower left. The interior remains complete and fairly clean with some light toning, with additional wear including surface marks, creasing and edge wear to the back cover.
