Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Another amazing year for Bronx supporters in 1928, the New York Yankees would finish the season’s campaign 101-53, advancing to their third consecutive Fall Classic. Facing the St Louis Cardinals, the Yankees were ready to enact revenge as they were defeated in 7 by St Louis two seasons previously. Outscored heavily with the Yankees sporting 27 runs throughout the Series to the Cards 10, New York would handily defeat St Louis, with the Series going only four games. We have a program scored in pencil for game 3 as witnessed by the scoreline along with a cover notation in pencil. Heavy staining is present, with the cover split along the spine at the top and bottom. There is also a vertical fold, with the center line-up page detached but present. Despite these apparent flaws, the program still displays admirably.
