Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Considered one of the greatest teams to ever set foot on a diamond, the 1927 New York Yankees secured their fifth pennant with an impressive 110-44 record, with Ruth hitting his famous 60 home runs. The Fall Classic would see a match-up against MVP Paul Waner and his Pittsburgh Pirates, with the first game taking place at Forbes Field on October 5th. The Yankees would prove to be too much for the Pirates over the Series, winning in four straight games and forever cementing the reputation of Murderers’ Row. We have a rarely seen, unscored program from Forbes Field. At 9” x 11”, the soft-covered publication exhibits the covers both torn along the top and bottom of the spine, with an original dealers notation along the bottom of the cover. There is also a vertical fold along with toning and creasing present. Despite these obvious flaws, the program displays nicely.
