The first Fall Classic appearance for St Louis, the 1926 Series between the Cardinal and Yankees went the full seven games, with the Cards scoring 10 runs more than the Yankees throughout the Series. Game 7 witnessed The Babe getting walked in the bottom of the ninth, trailing 3-2 and on their last out. Bob Meusel stepped to the plate next, and on the first pitch that was swung on and missed, Ruth attempted to steal second only to be thrown out, sealing the deal for the Cardinals and their first championship. We have an unscored program from Sportsman’s Park. At 7 ¾” x 10 ½”, the program remains in beautiful condition, with vibrant colours along with the covers and interior pages all firmly attached. Just some light surface and spine wear is present, with this specimen surviving in wonderful high grade.
