Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The CHL Player of the Year in 1975, goaltender Ed Staniowski was a first-round draft choice of the St Louis Blues that same season , seeing later NHL action with both Winnipeg and Hartford as well as the Blues. Hailing from the 1975-77 period, Staniowski donned this St. Louis jersey most likely in 1975-76, and it probably witnessed television exposure as there is evidence of a former nameplate, with nameplates mandated for television use and later removed. A Rawlings label is affixed to the collar, along with a “31” swatch and “2 inch shorter” tag. Styled with the familiar blue note team crest in tri-layer tackle twill, the durene V-neck has been accented with tri-colour sleeve and verso numbers in matching material.
Game-wear consists of marks and paint transfer over the lower front, along with some random pilling. There are also 3 team repairs present, with an example over the left sleeve, along with a pair on front including a large example directly beneath the team crest.
