Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Lumber used by HOFers to reach important career milestones is as desirable as it gets, with the majority of that short supply coveted as keepsakes by those very HOFers, leaving scant specimens to appear on the auction block. We have a highly desirable signed example here, the second important milestone HOF stick offered in this auction and wielded by the leader of the famous Triple Crown line - Marcel Dionne, while securing his 1600th NHL career point. It’s also interesting to note that this very milestone occurred while assisting Luc Robitaille’s first NHL goal! A Sher-Wood Feather-Lite model, “Dionne” and “16” appear stamped-on, with “16” also handwritten along the top of the shaft. The stick retains its original white tape on the blade and handle, with a small plaque affixed stating “1600th point” along with the date of “10-9-86”. A COA from Upper Deck will accompany.
Nice use is exhibited on the important club, with wear to the taped section of blade along with light wear to the lower shaft. Dionne has signed across the front side of the lower shaft in marker, with some fading to the signature over time.
