Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
One of our beloved nation’s most popular hockey manufacturers throughout most of the 20th century, the Canada Cycle and Motor Company produced high quality sporting goods as well as bicycles, with their sticks seeing NHL use by Canadian based clubs, primarily throughout the 1950s and 1960s. We have a gorgeous CCM display sign from the 1940s. Featuring die-cut construction, the cardboard ephemera advertises the company’s popular matched sets, with a pair of individuals pictured along the base eagerly eyeing the mounted skates that give the display an embossed, 3 dimensional feel. Equipped with a back easel for free-standing display, the piece survives admirably, with vibrant colours along with some light staining to the circular top edge.
We should also note some light water damage along the bottom section, with some light creasing also noticeable in spots.
