From his first two seasons of four in Pittsburgh, we have James Neal’s game-worn pants from 2010-11, along with his game-used skates from 2011-12, with each item photo-matched. The pants are Easton models in solid black with accents in Pens colours, with an embroidered Penguins patch on the front right leg, and an NHL shield crest on the back. A notation on the inside band states a date of use of Feb 23rd 2011 (2-23-11) to April 3rd 2011 (4-3-11). The skates are Bauer Vapor models with custom Tuuk blades, and they feature affixed identifiers, with all lacing intact. Handwritten notations on the underside of each include a date of Sept 12th 2011 (9-12-11). The pants exhibit nice use, with marks, burns, scrapes and abrasions present, along with a 3” horizontal cut just above the back of the right pant leg. Getty image #109692473 from Feb 26th 2011 and Getty image #110543060 from March 20th have both been matched to the black diagonal mark in the gold-colored section of the right leg, while Getty image #109845931 from March 2nd has been matched to the big burn about 4" above the team's crest on the right leg. The skates also exhibit great use, with a ton of slashes, cuts and marks, along with additional heavy wear to the blade holders. Getty image #131972330 from Nov 5th 2011 has been matched to a number of marks on the outside boot of the right skate, and to the black mark below “Tuuk” on the same side of the skate. Lastly, Getty image #133324386 from Nov 15th has been matched to a number of marks on both skates.
