Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
This visually pleasing group of 9 framed reproduction photos feature early and noteworthy hockey teams, and they originate from the collection of hockey sportscaster and author Brian McFarlane. Each example is framed, and they range in size from roughly 9 ½” x 11 ½” to 14” x 16 ½”, with an affixed paper to each listing their provenance. Included are the 1881 Prince Albert Northwest Territories hockey and lacrosse champions, 1890 London Ontario hockey champs, 1904-05 Dawson City Hockey Team, 1894 Ottawa Hockey Team, 1893 Winnipeg Victorias, 1888 Halifax Chebucto Hockey Team, 1892 Ottawa Rebels Hockey Club, 1906-07 Portage Lakes Lakers and 1884 Ottawa hockey champions. As an added bonus, there is also a copy of a King Clancy photo that pictures him in his Ottawa sweater and it’s dated 1920. Most of the frames are in very good condition and show no major issues, while the 1890 London example has excessive wear to the frame.
