This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Purchased by Eddie Shore in 1939, the Springfield Indians would play in a total of 60 seasons from 1926-1994. Icing a number of stars including Shore, other notable players who got their start with the Indians includes Charlie Rayner, Earl Seibert, Cecil Dillon and Otto Heller. This lot contains three vintage Indians programs, with a pair from 1929-30 and a Finals example from 1927-28. At 7” x 10”, each program features generic hockey imagery on the cover, along with schedules/advertising to the reverse. The 1927-28 program is from the Finals against Quebec, with the Indians winning their second consecutive title. The 1929-30 examples were for matches against New Haven and Philadelphia. The 1927-28 Finals program exhibits creasing and spine wear to the cover, along with a few pen notations. A number of the central pages are also detached but present. The 1929-30 program vs Philadelphia exhibits toning, with a clipped bottom left corner and a faint vertical bend. The example vs New Haven also exhibits heavier toning, with the front and back covers torn along the spine. Heavy rust to the staples is also present, but despite these flaws, the program displays well.
