Goaltending great Martin Brodeur’s 2006-07 New Jersey Devils jersey is photo-matched to the night he got his 448th win to pass Terry Sawchuk on the all-time wins list. As per the MeiGray LOA that accompanies this historic game-worn jersey, Brodeur wore it during the first and second periods of New Jersey’s 7-6 overtime win against Toronto at Continental Airlines Arena on Oct. 12, 2006. Brodeur set an NHL record with 48 wins and had a career-high 12 shutouts and a 2.18 goals against average to win his third Vezina Trophy. Four digital images are included from the 448th win game that provide solid photo matches to Brodeur’s jersey, which has the Devils 25th anniversary patch on the right breast and goalie style and size 60 flag tags in the back of the neck. “10-12-06 448 Break Sawchuk” is handwritten in black marker on the fight strap and MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2006-2007 Season registry patch is sewn inside the rear tail. The MeiGray population report has "Red Set 1 - 448th Win” and "’10/12/06 448 Break Sawchuk’ in fight strap worn through 10/12/06 as Brodeur passed Sawchuk for 3rd place in wins" notations for this historic game-worn jersey.
The photo matches include the black mark below the Devils team crest on the front, about an inch from the white stripe, and the black mark in that white stripe below it. Other photo matches include the two small black marks in the white stripe on the bottom front of the jersey, the small grouping of black marks near the tail on Devils crest, the long loose red thread near the collar, and a number of loose threads on the 25th anniversary patch.
