Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Any and all signatures from the Georgia Peach are highly coveted, with high grade examples from the game’s all-time greatest player far lacking the incredible demand. We have an especially pleasing specimen offered, set in an extremely attractive display. A black and white portrait image of Cobb has been double-matted above, with his steely gaze and high-collared countenance indicative of the dead ball era game. The Cobb cheque, dated Jan 13th 1932 has been encapsulated GEM MT 10 by the good people at PSA, and it’s been expertly set within the display, with the PSA/DNA label in full view. A desirable full signature, with “Tyrus R. Cobb” executed in wonderful dark ink, with no infringements upon the scripting. A name plaque with career highlights has been centralized, with the contents framed to full dimensions of 17 ¼” x 23 ¼”.
