Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

Awesome Canada international hockey jersey is the style worn by 1968 Olympic bronze medalists Team Canada in Grenoble, France. The 1967–68 Canada men's national ice hockey team represented Canada in the Olympic tournament played at the Palais des Sports, which also counted as both the IIHF World and European Championships. This was the last men's ice hockey team to compete for Canada at the Olympics until 1980 in Lake Placid. Forward Danny O’Shea wore No. 18 for Canada at the 1968 Olympics and a pair of Getty Images photos that displays the “8” on the sleeves show the different sizes in the openings of the number, with a smaller opening at the top of the 8 and a larger one on the bottom, as well as the style of the sleeves, with the long red area coming up from the cuff showing as well. Tie-neck classic has “Canada” and a maple leaf on the front and numbers on the sleeves and back, all in sewn-on red twill. There is wear to the stitching of the maple leaf and a hole on the right rear tail and small holes on the sleeves that do not diminish this Olympic treasure’s display.
