Tops when it comes to choosing the big screen’s all-time most iconic horror “monsters”, both Dracula and Frankenstein enjoyed huge success in a number of pictures from the 1930s through the 1970s. The world’s most famous vampire has been portrayed by many, but none so noteworthy as Bela Lugosi, while the creation of Dr. Frankenstein was most memorably performed by Boris Karloff. We have a great group of movie posters featuring the evil duo, with 5 examples present including House of Frankenstein (R-1950s British quad poster 30” x 40”), Frankenstein Created Woman (1967 one sheet 27” x 41”), Scars of Dracula (circa-1970 British three sheet 39 ½” x 79 ½”), Scars of Dracula (circa-1970 German one sheet 23” x 33”) and Andy Warhol's Dracula (circa-1974 one sheet 28" x 39").
- Scars of Dracula (circa-1970 German one sheet 23” x 33”). Tiny holes are present along fold line intersections, with the colours all remaining bright. Edge wear is also present with a few wrinkles and creases, most notably along the bottom left corner. There is also a pen notation on the reverse.
- Andy Warhol's Dracula (circa-1974 one sheet 28" x 39"). Printed on thin stock, the poster exhibits heavy fold lines with some toning to each. There is also edge wear along with a separation at the top fold line intersection. The reverse also exhibits heavy toning, with a notation on the reverse in pencil. Starring Joe Dallesandro, Udo Kier, Arno Juerging, Maxime McKendry, Milena Vukotic, Dominique Darel, Stefania Casini, Silvia Dionisio, Vittorio De Sica, and Roman Polanski. Directed by Paul Morrissey.
- Frankenstein Created Woman (1967 one sheet 27” x 41”). Separations are present at each fold line intersection, with the largest example at the top fold. Some toning is also present at fold lines, with small edge tears starting at a few. Creases are also noticeable, with examples primarily at the top right and bottom left, with the top left corner clipped. An original stamp is present on the reverse, along with a pencil notation. Starring Peter Cushing, Susan Denberg, Thorley Walters, Robert Morris, Duncan Lamont, Peter Blythe, and Peter Madden. Directed by Terence Fisher.
- House of Frankenstein (R-1950s British quad poster 30” x 40”). A beautiful example with bright red colour, a few small separations are present at fold line intersections, along with some random wrinkling/creasing, most notably along the left, with slight discolouration to the bottom left border. A few handwritten notations are also present on the reverse. Starring Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney Jr., John Carradine, J. Carrol Naish, Anne Gwynne, Peter Coe, Lionel Atwill, Elena Verdugo, George Zucco, Sig Ruman, and Glenn Strange. Directed by Erle C. Kenton.
- Scars of Dracula (circa-1970 British three sheet 39 ½” x 79 ½”). Large and in-charge, the dominant yellow remains completely bright, along with the important red highlights. In two pieces, the bottom section features just the credits, with the larger top portion having both the graphics and title. On fairly thick stock, a few wrinkles and creases are present at fold line intersections, with not much else to note. Starring Christopher Lee, Dennis Waterman, Jenny Hanley, Christopher Matthews, Patrick Troughton, Michael Gwynn, Michael Ripper, Wendy Hamilton, Anouska Hempel, and Delia Lindsay. Directed by Roy Ward Baker.
