Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Still considered the most important hockey tournament in history, the immortal Summit Series was designed to prove who was truly better, Russia or Canada, with the winner garnering complete hockey supremacy. We have a wonderful little group of Summit Series mementos, with a 1972 shadow box display featuring the signatures of the Mahovlich brothers, along with a wonderful grouping of commemorative pucks totaling 37. The display features a photo of the brothers in their Team Canada jerseys, with each signing over their respective image, and the signatures are flawless. A name plaque has been added along with a ’72 puck, with a pin along the top. Framed to total dimensions of 21” x 22 ½”, the frame itself exhibits some wear. The 37 Team Canada pucks picture the featured player, along with a “Team of the Century” logo on the reverse. All of the big names are accounted for, with Henderson, Dryden, Cournoyer, Mikita, Perreault, Clarke, the Mahovlich and Esposito brothers and many more! There is just a single duplicate, with a second puck for Don Awrey. The majority of the pucks remain in high grade, with just the odd blemish present.
