Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
His second of four seasons surpassing the unfathomable total of 200 points, Wayne Gretzky would cap off another remarkable campaign in 1983-84 with a Stanley Cup championship along with being named an officer of the Order of Canada. Hailing from the incomparable holdings of Gretzky collector extraordinaire Shawn Chaulk, we have a stick used by Wayne in the 1983-84 season. A Titan TPM 2020 model in solid white with red accents, “W. Gretzky” is stamped-on, with a date code of “Jan 10 1984” along the underside as well as “WG” handwritten over the heel. The important stick retains its white over black tape on the handle and knob, with the tape removed from the blade so that a signature that has now been erased could be executed. An LOA from Mr. Chaulk will accompany.
Great use is shown, with wear to the blade along the top and underside, with marks to the lower shaft. There is also a small spot of red paint transfer along the underside near the date stamp.
