Achieving further recognition as one of the games best while shutting down the powerful Soviets at the 1987 Canada Cup, Grant Fuhr’s career reached its pinnacle in the late-1980s, winning Cups in 1987, 1988 and 1990, while garnering his only Vezina Trophy as the league’s top netminder in 1988. We have a pair of pads worn by the HOFer circa-1988, from arguably the height of his noteworthy career. D&R LG55 models in solid white with accents in Oilers’ blue and orange, “Fuhr” is screened-onto and partially faded along the lower inseam of each pad. With all identifiers either screened-on or affixed, each 34” pad features Perma-Flex construction, with all interior padding and strapping intact. Thorough use is exhibited on each, with numerous marks present along with heavy rubbing to the leather. A team repair is also present, situated on the lower front of the right pad.
