The Toronto Blue Jays made a huge splash when they acquired 2012 NL Cy Young Award winner R.A. Dickey from the New York Mets in a seven-player offseason trade. Dickey’s 2013 Blue Jays game-worn road jersey is from his first of four seasons in Toronto, which made the playoffs each of his last two seasons there. The righthanded knuckleball specialist won a Gold Glove with the Jays in 2013 and went 14-13 with a shutout, three complete games and a 4.21 ERA in 34 starts, which tied him for the Major League lead with Kansas City’s James Shields, Detroit’s Justin Verlander and National League leader Adam Wainwright of the St. Louis Cardinals. Majestic MLB Authentic Collection tagging sits on the left front tail along with size “50”, “Taper” and “+1” sleeve” flag tags at the bottom. A “43 ’13 S1” patch is sewn inside the back of the collar and some light pilling on the front of the right sleeve and piping at the cuff. The MLB Authenticated hologram sticker applied to the bottom of the “3” sewn on the back has a registry number that shows on the database printout that the jersey is an “R A Dickey Grey Jersey. Worn 23 April 2013”.
