The NHL and NHLPA stepped up to show they cared in the wake of the ravages wrought by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Defenseman Nolan Pratt’s 2005-06 Tampa Bay Lightning game-worn jersey sports the Katrina Relief Fund patch on the right breast that the team wore for its home opener. Pratt, who played all 82 games for the Lightning, looked on as Tampa Bay hoisted its 2004 Stanley Cup banner after the previous season was scuttled by a lockout. This gamer, which he wore during the second period of Tampa Bay’s 5-2 win against Carolina, has a size 56 flag tag in the back of the neck that is sewn over by nameplate stitching. Pratt played 19:14 though this single-game jersey worn for one period has no obvious game wear to report. Cutting Edge Sports patch inside the rear hem reads “Tampa Bay Lightning Katrina Hurricane Relief Jersey”. The MeiGray NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2004-2005 Season patch inside the left rear hem has a registry number that shows on the 2005-2006 MeiGray population report that the this jersey is a "Black w/ Katrina Relief Patch - Worn in 2nd Period of Home Opener on 10/5/05".
