Released by United Artists in 1958 on a double bill with Curse of the Faceless Man, It! The Terror from Beyond Space received somewhat better than expected reviews despite its B movie status, with Variety describing the film’s antagonist, “It’ is a Martian by birth, a Frankenstein by instinct, and a copycat. The monster dies hard, brushing aside grenades, bullets, gas and an atomic pile, before snorting its last snort. It’s old stuff, with only a slight twist.” We have a typically-sized one sheet poster from the film. Set in the distant future of 1973, an expedition is sent to Mars to uncover the disappearance of Earth’s original Mars settlers, with a single survivor located along with something else?
Thrice folded, the poster exhibits prominent fold lines, with a single vertical fold line along with three horizontal examples. Heavy wear is present along the fold lines, with some separations along spots with small holes, with an area along the top reinforced from the reverse. Heavy toning is also present, with pinholes at each corner along with a few areas of paper loss along edges. A few notations are also present along the reverse, with a stamp stating that this poster was originally in the collection of sci-fi author Don G. Smith.
