Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A defining moment for modern horror cinema, Night of the Living Dead in 1968 would be the first zombie romp for cult filmmaker extraordinaire George A. Romero, followed by Dawn of the Dead in 1978 and Day of the Dead in 1985. With the current fascination with the undead bordering on fetishism, these landmark films deserve their rightful praise, with each contributing to the genesis of the modern zombie. We have a British UK-only quad poster for Day of the Dead that’s been signed by both Romero and Tom Savini, along with a regular one sheet poster for the film.
1 – Day of the Dead British UK quad poster 30” x 40”. The colours remain bright and vibrant, with the florescent green jumping off the darker background. Heavy wear is present along fold lines, with edge tears and pinholes also noticeable along with some considerable creasing along the left hand side. The reverse includes some clear tape added to reinforce spots, with a handwritten ink notation. Savini and Romero have both signed along the bottom right in black marker, and the signatures display well.
2 – Day of the Dead one sheet movie poster 27” x 41”. With gorgeous and bright colours, the poster exhibits just some wear along fold lines, primarily at intersections, with an ink notation on the reverse. Starring Lori Cardille, Terry Alexander, Joseph Pilato, Jarlath Conroy, and Anthony Dileo Jr. Directed by George A. Romero.
