Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
One of the most collected comic book characters and king of the DC universe, Batman began life in issue 27 of Detective Comics, with a self-titled book that soon followed. Growing in popularity throughout the 1940s, the “Caped Crusader” had a serial first developed, followed by the famous TV show, and ultimately, the 1966 feature film release, Batman. We have a French grande movie poster for the cult favourite executed by artist Boris Grinsson. At a large and impressive 47” x 63” and absolutely stunning in appearance, our hero is featured in full view, with gorgeous “Batman” text above, along with French language text below. The poster exhibits 6 fold lines, with three vertical examples and three horizontal, and it remains in absolutely wonderful condition, especially for its oversized dimensions.
The fold lines all exhibit light expected wear, with some creasing along the top right border along with a small edge tear on the upper left hand side.
