Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A former Red Wings captain, Errol Thompson was a first round draft choice of Toronto in 1970, staying with the club for parts of 7 seasons. We have a pair of contracts from the Summerside native, along with a contract addendum for fellow Leaf and HOFer Norm Ullman. Thompson’s Standard Player’s Contracts both hail from the early-1970s, with one example for the 1972-73 season, the second contract appears to encompass seasons 1972-73 through 1974-75. Each has been stamped by the Central Registry, with signatures present on each from league president and HOFer Clarence Campbell. The 1969 Ullman addendum is on thin traceable paper, and it calls for the HOFer to receive an additional $2500.00 for each playoff series won through the 1969-70 to 1971-72 seasons, with an additional $5000.00 if the Leafs bring home hockey’s holy grail. Ullman has signed, and the signature is problem free. The contracts remain in excellent condition, exhibiting just expected handling wear.
