Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

The league leader for goals in 1945 with 37, Gaye Stewart had won the Calder in 1943 after a breakout rookie campaign that witnessed the Ontario native average almost a point-a-game for the entire season. We have a Standard Player’s Contract for Stewart signed by HOFer Hap Day, along with an agreement memorandum for the 1940-41 season signed by HOFer Conn Smythe. The contract is for the 1945-46 NHL season, calling for a salary of $4900.00 along with bonuses listed for All-Star births. The Smythe and Day signatures are flawless, with just light wear to the contract, while the agreement exhibits additional wear including some light creasing and tiny edge tears.
