Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
From opinionated commentator and hockey protagonist Don Cherry, we have an attractive signed display, along with a Toronto Maple Leaf jersey signed by one of the former coach’s favourite players, Doug Gilmour. The jersey is a CCM Vintage example with all labeling present. Featuring an attractive and partially embroidered team crest, the blue V-neck has been accented with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers, with the Stanley Cup 100th anniversary patch over the right breast. Doug has signed along the middle of the “3” on verso in blue marker, and the signature displays beautifully with just a hint of bleeding. The Cherry display features a black and white image of dapper Don, with a plaque inserted below giving details of Game 7 of the 1979 semi-finals against Montreal, Cherry’s last game coaching the Bruins. Don has signed along the right hand side in black marker, adding “Good Luck”. Double-matted and framed to full dimensions of 18” x 24”, COAs will accompany both items.
