Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Perhaps the most famous brother combo throughout the NHL’s history, Phil and Tony Esposito’s careers were fairly contemporary (as is the case with most sibling pairings), with Phil seeing 18 seasons of NHL action, Tony 16. Each is also a coveted member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. We have a pair of signed vintage-style jerseys from the brothers, with a Chicago example signed by Tony along with a Bruins jersey autographed by Phil. Both sweaters were produced by CCM Vintage with labeling intact, and they’ve been styled with partially embroidered felt team crests along with tackle twill sleeve and verso numbers. The Boston jersey also sports an alternate’s “A” over the left breast, while the Chicago example exhibits matching alternate crests over each shoulder. Phil has signed along the top of the “7” on verso, with the signature a bit light, most likely due to a weak marker and not from fading, while Tony has added a thick black marker autograph to the reverse “5”, adding “1969-70”. COAs will accompany each signed jersey.
