Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Selected as the greatest goaltender in NHL history by a panel of writers along with a simultaneous fan poll in 2004, Patrick Roy remains second on the list for all-time wins. We have a trio of Roy items, with a signed limited-edition “448 Wins” Avalanche jersey, along with a signed store model stick. We also have a display featuring the netminder with fellow HOFer Ray Bourque, with both signing. The jersey is a KOHO model with tagging along the collar. Styled with an attractive partially embroidered Avs team crest along with tackle twill identifiers, the V-neck sweater also features the Colorado All-Star game crest over the right breast. Roy has signed within the second “3” on verso, adding both “448 Wins” along with “10-17-00”. Hand-numbered 11/133, the jersey remains in gorgeous condition. The stick is a KOHO Revolution, modeled after examples used while with Montreal, with “P. Roy” factory graphics. Patrick has signed across the front side of the blade in dark marker, with absolutely no issues. A small plaque has also been affixed at the top of the shaft, erroneously listing “Patrick Roy Official Game Stick 1994”. Lastly, the dual-signed display features a photo of both Roy and Ray Bourque hoisting Lord Stanley’s hardware in 2001. Each has signed near their respective image, and the signatures are flawless. Triple-matted and framed to full dimensions of roughly 25 ½” x 29 ½”, the display will be accompanied by a COA, with an additional COA for the Roy jersey.
