Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Hailing from his Vezina and William M. Jennings winning season of 2002-03, we have a stick used by HOF netminder Martin Brodeur. Use can actually be pinpointed to a specific game, as information provided by our consignor divulges that this stick was wielded by Brodeur during the first game of this Stanley Cup championship season vs Ottawa, with a 2-1 victory on 33 saves from Brodeur, enough to garner 1st star accolades in the contest. A preferred CCM Heaton Pro model, “M Brodeur” is stamped-on, along with a date code of “06 Sept 2002”. “Ott” has also been handwritten along the knob, noting its use vs Ottawa. The original tape is in place on the blade and knob, with Martin adding a thin marker signature midway up the paddle.
The stick exhibits light but definite use, with some wear to the taped section of blade, along with a few small grooves out of the handle.
