Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Their fourth Cup win in six years, the Detroit Red Wings would finish 1st overall at the conclusion of the 1954-55 NHL season, led in goals by Mr Hockey himself, Gordie Howe. The finals would go seven games, with the powerful Red Wings edging the Habs 3-1 in the decider. We have a limited-edition signed display, featuring Howe’s Cup winning goal. A celebratory image of the goal has been placed along the left, with a copy of the official score sheet on right. Plaques with the particulars have been placed above and below, with Howe signing just beneath his image, adding his “Mr Hockey” moniker along with “1955 Stanley Cup”. Double-matted and framed to full dimensions of roughly 23” x 32”, the signature and display both remain in gorgeous condition. Hand-numbered “66/199” along the lower left, a hologram from Frameworth has also been affixed, with a matching COA to accompany.
