Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The only player to score over 100 points TWICE in his mid-40s, Gordie Howe continues to be the benchmark for hockey greatness. We have a circa-1946 rookie year style Detroit Red Wings jersey signed by the legendary HOFer. An Ebbets Field Flannels creation with tagging in the collar, a second label warns to “Dry Clean Only”. With thick felt verso number and an attractive partially chain-stitched team crest, matching “Victory” crests grace each upper sleeve. Gordie has signed the felt “9” on verso, adding “Mr. Hockey” above and “1946-47 Rookie Year” below. The signature displays well against the white background, with the sweater in gorgeous overall condition with no unsightly wear/marks or issues.
