Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
A product of the University of Alaska, defenceman Shawn Chambers spent parts of 13 seasons in the NHL, shared amongst New Jersey, Washington, Tampa Bay and others. This Lightning jersey was worn by the Michigan native in 1993-94. CCM labeling is attached to the collar along with a size “54” fly tag, with embroidered CCM and NHL crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with a textured Lightning team crest, the white V-neck has been accented with tri-colour drop-shadow tackle twill numbers and name-on-nameplate, with matching alternate crests over each shoulder. The team patch appears rubberized onto the back inside hem, and it denotes the garment as a “1993 Set 1” example. We should also note that the verso numbers had initially been placed too high on this sweater and were subsequently lowered by the team, leaving evidence of their original higher placement. Game-wear consists of a few large marks on the lower front, with additional examples over each sleeve along with a few small resulting holes.
