Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
From the maker’s of Vi-Tone, a “great food-tonic-beverage”, we have this vintage stand-up display printed on thick cardboard that depicts the 1931-32 Stanley Cup champion Toronto Maple Leafs. The team's players and executives are all identified by a facsimile autograph and their position or title. Smythe, Selke, Irvin, Chabot, Clancy, Horner, Day, Bailey, Finnigan, Jackson, Primeau, Conacher, they're all there with the rest of the first Maple Leafs championship team! This remarkable "Vi-Tone" food-tonic-beverage photo display is a very rare and historic piece of hockey memorabilia. It is stamped on the reverse by the Super Art Company of Toronto and the fold-out stand remains intact. A vertical crease that’s broken the surface runs from top to bottom near the center, with some light water staining along the bottom left corner. A few other small stains and marks are present on both the front and reverse, with the advertising piece displaying well despite its lower technical grade.
