Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
One of the all-time greatest hockey venues, we have a neat collection of postcards totaling 9 that all feature Maple Leaf Gardens, ranging from roughly the 1940s to 1980s, with the majority earlier than later. There is also the added bonus of a rare MLG photo card. 8 of the 9 postcards picture the famous building in exterior shots, with each example in colour except one. The highlight of the group is an interior shot that shows the Maple Leafs lined up at ice level, with a full band playing amidst a packed house. Each of the postcards feature clean backs and were never mailed, with just light handling wear present including the odd tiny crease or corner ding. The photo card is roughly 2 ¼” x 3 ½” and it pictures the venue from the exterior in black and white. Appearing to be from the 1930s/40s, the picture card remains in wonderful condition, with “050” handwritten along the reverse in pencil.
