Featuring one of the most beloved and venerated Montreal Canadiens of all-time, Maurice Richard still holds the Habs record for most points in a single game with 8. According to the Richard family, these battered brown and black leather skates saw game action throughout the late-1950s. Previously displayed in The Rocket’s trophy room, an inscription on the blades states "Dernier patins Maurice Richard 1960", which translates to "Maurice Richard's last skates 1960". CCM models with considerable use apparent, each skate features heavy wear to the leather throughout, including loss to the finish with cuts/grooves along the toe sections. Currently void of any lacing, the blades exhibit some rusting in spots, with each cracked along the base sections. Altering rivets were also used on the right skate. Used by Richard in the twilight of his career in the late-1950s, again, according to the family, it appears the blades have been changed at some point in the 1960s, with the skates employed for further use by Richard in oldtimers capacities. These are the sole pair saved by Richard and his family and an LOA from the Richard’s will accompany.
