Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
No stranger to Victorian baseball, Ontario had produced a number of early clubs including the Guelph Maple Leafs who formed in 1861 along with a later namesake in Toronto that produced high-level minor-league baseball from 1896 to 1967. We have a baseball that’s been multi-signed by members of the 1956 Toronto Maple Leafs. A Spalding International sphere with faded stampings, 8 ballpoint signatures are present, with Hector Rodriguez (1954-59), Bill Wilson (1956), Lew Morton (1951-58), Ed Stevens (1952-56), Ed Blake (1954-59), Carl Sawatski (1956), Loren Babe (1955-57) and one other. The signatures display well with little to no fading or loss, with the ball exhibiting an even coat of toning.
