Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Another banner year for the blue and white, the 1937-38 NHL season witnessed the Toronto Maple Leafs finish the regular season atop the Canadian Division, advancing to the Stanley Cup Final after dispatching the Bruins three straight. This mini-stick has been team-signed by the 1937-38 Leafs, with additional signatures from a minor league team. With an entire length of just over 20”, the one-piece stick features 15 signatures from 14 different Leafs (Busher signed twice) on one side, with 20 signatures on the reverse. Highlights include HOFers Jackson (2), Horner, Conacher, Drillon and Turk Broda. The stick remains in gorgeous condition, while the signatures remain fairly bold and dark.
Other signers on this desirable 1937-38 Toronto Maple Leafs team signed mini-stick include Bill Thoms, Buzz Boll, Nick Metz, Jimmy Fowler, Bob Davidson, Pep Kelly, Murph Chamberlain, Reg Hamilton and Bingo Kampman. It should also be noted that a small hanging hook has been added to the top of the shaft, most likely from prior display use. A newspaper article will also be included that mentions this stick.
