Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017

For many years referred to as “Laval Dairy” cards, a box/wrapper discovered indicates Quebec’s “Bedard & Donaldson Ltee” as the manufacturer, with some NM examples here looking like they just came out of the original packaging! Superb bright “white” cards are joined by others with varying degrees of toning, with EX, EX+ and EX-MT the dominant grades. The key #1 Jean Beliveau card would be EX-MT if not for a crease-like “line” across the lower back edge, likely caused in production. Picturing Jacques Plante in his Montreal Royals uniform, card #92 meanwhile displays as a VG-EX example but measures a tad shorter than the rest, while the last card, #109-Leo Gravelle, is F-G with “109” written on the reverse. Among the more impressive or notable rest are 16-Herb Carnegie, 73-Larry Kwong and 76-Toe Blake at NM, with 37-Punch Imlach at EX-MT. All-in-all, an appealing obscure Quebec Senior Hockey League set.
