Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Suiting up for the Long Islanders for 16 games during his rookie season of 1988-89, Rob DiMaio was a true NHL journeyman, dressing for Dallas, Carolina, Tampa Bay, Boston and a few other clubs throughout his career. This Islanders jersey was worn by the Calgary native in 1988-89. Maska Air-Knit tagging is affixed to the collar, with embroidered CCM and Syosset crests on the back bottom hem. Styled with the iconic Long Island team crest in tri-colour tackle twill, the blue V-neck has also been accented with dual-colour sleeve and verso numbers, with “DiMaio” across the nameplate in single twill. Marks are visible on the lower front and over each sleeve along with board burns, with small holes over each elbow section. There are also a few small stains on the team crest. We should also note that the possibility exists of a former nameplate once being on the jersey.
