This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
The genesis of Eric Lindros’ Hall of Fame career, time was spent in the London Minor Hockey Association as a minor atom, and later as a 12 year old with the Toronto Marlboros of the former Metropolitan Toronto Hockey League. We have a historically important group of early memorabilia from the superstar’s personal collection, totaling 6 items. Included, we have a Marlboros practice jersey that was worn by Eric as a youth, followed by a pair of Marlboros equipment bags once used to haul the future’s HOFers gear. There is also a postcard of Lindros as a Marlboro, and it feature’s a vintage signature, along with a pair of hockey programs with Eric listed in each. A signed LOA from Eric Lindros will accompany these rarely seen items from the earliest days of his career.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Eric Lindros’ Toronto Marlboros game-worn practice jersey. Solid white mesh affair with tagging present along the collar from Athletic Knit, a faded rubberized Marlboros crest is centered on the chest, with no other identifiers. There is some staining along the lower front along with some cracking to the team crest. There is also a pair of repairs just above the team crest. 2) Eric Lindros’ Toronto Marlboros equipment bags (2). Both solid blue with white accents, each differs in style, with both featuring Marloboros logos, and both show great use, with rips and holes present. 3) Eric Lindros signed vintage postcard. A 3 ½” x 5 ½” full colour example, Eric is pictured in his full Marlboros uniform, with “Eric Lindros” below. A vintage signature has been placed by Eric to the left of his image, and it displays well. This is possibly one of the earliest signatures that exist’s from the HOFer. 4) Eric Lindros’ minor hockey programs (2). Both 5 ½” x 8 ½”, one hails from a minor atom tournament in 1982, with Eric listed as playing for London Minor Hockey, while the second program originates from 1985-86, with Eric listed with the Marlboros. Both programs show wear, with the 1982 example having a torn upper left corner.
