Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Averaging just over a point-a-game during his first season in Manhattan in 2001-02, Eric Lindros would spend 3 seasons with the Blueshirts, arriving after the August 20th 2001 trade that sent Jan Hlavác, Kim Johnsson, Pavel Brendl and a 2003 third-round draft choice (Štefan Ružicka) to Philadelphia. Originating from the personal collection of HOFer Eric Lindros, we have a nice group of three items, all from The Big E’s time with the New York Rangers. Included are a game-used stick and game-used skates, both from circa 2001-02, along with an equipment bag used by the superstar. A signed LOA from Eric Lindros will accompany.
The breakdown for each of the offered items is as follows: 1) Eric Lindros’ game-used stick. A Bauer Tri Flex model finished in red and grey with white and black accents, “Lindros” factory graphics appear on the upper shaft, along with a serial number of “10015”. The tape on both the blade and handle are original to Eric, with “1” handwritten along the top of the shaft. Nice use is exhibited, with heavy wear to the blade and lower shaft. There is also a chip along the top of the blade near the heel section. 2) Eric Lindros’ game-worn skates. Bauer PFS models with red and blue leather accents, velcro straps have been added to each that cover across the top of the laces. Wear is heavy, with marks and abrasions to the blades and holders, along with grooves and cuts across the toe sections. There is also heavy paint transfer on the right skate, with some possibly extra threading added to support the tongues, and a few small rust spots on each blade. 3) Eric Lindros’ equipment bag. Solid blue with red accents, a label from MSG resident and supplier Gerry Cosby is affixed along one side, with a second Cosby “Made in America” plastic tag. The zipper remains functional, with the bag exhibiting good use, with some dirt staining to the interior.
