HOF center Eric Lindros was dubbed “The Next One” during his junior hockey days, a riff on Wayne Gretzky’s The Great One nickname and Eric’s incredibly promising potential. Lindros’ Ontario Hockey League All-Stars game-worn jersey is circa 1989-90, which was his first Major Junior season when he won the Memorial Cup with the Oshawa Generals. The Big E was drafted by Sault Ste. Marie refused to play for them, forcing a trade to Oshawa, where he had 36 points in 25 regular season games. “Lindros” is spelled out in sewn-on white twill letters on a black twill nameplate on this black mesh gamer with the Cooper logo embroidered onto the right rear tail. Comes with Eric Lindros’ signed LOA.
Game wear shows in a board burn on the lower right sleeve and a mark with an unrepaired slice to the mesh fabric on the back of the upper left sleeve. Lindros’ No. 88 on the back is sewn-on white twill, while the numbers on the sleeves are heat-pressed black vinyl. The OHL logo and four stars on the front are heat-screened white vinyl. There is a long, narrow cloth fight strap loop inside the back.
Lindros had 17 goals and 19 assists for 36 points in 25 regular season games as a 16-year-old in his first season with Oshawa. In 17 games in the OHL playoffs, Lindros scored 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points. He had nine assists in four games when the Generals won the Memorial Cup at the end of his first season. Lindros scored 71 goals and had 78 assists for 149 points in 57 games with Oshawa in 1990-91. He added 38 points in 16 playoff games, including 18 goals and 20 assists.
