The fastest expansion team in the major league’s to win a Fall Classic with their World Series victory in 2001, the Arizona Diamondbacks were created in 1998, playing in the West Division since inception. Presented, we have a pair of game-worn Diamondbacks jerseys from their inaugural season in 1998, featuring examples worn by Jay Bell and Matt Williams. The Bell jersey is a home example with Russell tagging along the lower front left tail, with an embroidered Russell crest over the right sleeve. “Diamond Backs” appears partially embroidered in drop-shadow tackle twill, with “33” on front and verso in matching material. The important first season patch sits over the left sleeve. With just a light stain on the interior collar, the jersey remains in beautiful condition. The Williams jersey is a batting practice example, with Majestic tagging along the lower front left tail, along with a rubberized Majestic crest over the right sleeve. Featuring an attractive multi-coloured D-Backs logo over the left breast, the black mesh button-up also sports “9” on verso in tri-colour tackle twill. With no unsightly wear or marks, the garment remains in beautiful condition.
