Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Winter 2017
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 3/8/2017
Each of D.C.’s baseball teams, the Washington Nationals, both the old and the new Senators, and the Homestead Grays, gets a nod in this collection of five game-worn items.
Featured is Brad Wilkerson’s 2005 Nationals game-worn jersey from their inaugural season, which marked the return of Major League Baseball to the U.S. capital after a 34-year absence. Wilkerson’s No. 7 white home gamer has Majestic Authentic Collection tagging on the left front tail with a size 48 flag tag at the bottom and it comes with an LOA.
Ramon Ortiz’s 2006 Nationals Turn-Back-The-Clock game-worn jersey is a Homestead Grays navy-pinstriped No. 26 jersey with AIS size 46 tagging on the left front tail. Ortiz signed with his No. 26 in silver paint pen on the top of the sewn-on navy blue twill “6” on the back, which has an MLB holofoil sticker applied to the right of the autograph.
The original Senators are represented here by Ossie Bluege’s 1944 game-worn gray flannel road pants. “Bluege” is handwritten inside the rear of the waistband along with “30” while “36 1 ‘44” are embroidered below that in red thread.
The new Senators of the 1960s are represented in two pairs of game-worn pants, including Jim French’s pinstriped home pants with Wilson size 40 tagging inside the front of the waistband, which also has “French” and “56” among a few marker notations.
Rounding out the lot is a pair of 1960s Senators game-worn gray flannel road pants with Rawlings size 32 and 23 Inseam tagging inside the waistband, and “Styles” handwritten in red marker on the inside of the front fly.
